Currently Reading: Gather Together in My Name
The minute I started semestral break (that’s basically yesterday) I began reading Maya Angelou’s Gather Together in My Name again. I actually started reading this two weeks ago but had to stop because school got crazy and I had x number of requirements to meet.
While Gather Together in My Name is the sequel to I know Why the Caged Bird Sings (which I haven’t read yet) it’s one of those sequels which I believe you can appreciate with out reading the previous book. Maya Angelou, like a lot of her poetry writes simply but powerfully, and there’s always something moving about how candidly she tells it all.
